Description

3″ Race Downpipes for the S63 F10/F12 M5 & M6 which feature a CNC stainless steel v-band to pipe transition. These 3″ downpipes are the best bang for the buck mod available for your S63, with gains from 50hp & 60tq when tuned. By eliminating the restrictive catalytic converters in the factory downpipes, backpressure is reduced significantly which results in faster spool, an increase in power & a more aggressive exhaust note.

Rather than necking down closer to the turbos like most of our competitors, our 3″ race downpipe feature a full 3″ design up to the last couple of inches of the pipe which allows a greater increase in flow. Our 3″ downpipes are hand crafted from SS304 stainless steel

 Features:

  • Adds 50-55 HP to the wheels & 60-65 TQ to the wheels.
  • CAD/CAM designed CNC flange.
  • Hand made from mandrel bent, tig welded 3″ 304 grade stainless steel.
  • Smooth radius bends to decrease turbulence and increase flow.
  • Fits RHD and LHD models with no modification necessary.

Fitment:

This item fits the following BMWs:
2011+ F10 BMW M5
2011+ F12 BMW M6
2011+ F06 BMW M6 Gran Coupe

Note: Fits both Left Hand Drive & Right Hand Drive Models

A Key Section in a Turbocharged Exhaust System

The downpipe connects directly to the turbocharger and routes exhaust gases into the rest of the exhaust system. It is one of the first exhaust components downstream of the turbo.

Because of its position, the design of the downpipe influences how exhaust gases move away from the turbo and into the remaining exhaust path.

What Drivers May Observe

More consistent exhaust flow downstream of the turbocharger

Reduced restriction compared to some factory exhaust layouts

Smoother boost delivery under certain operating conditions

Changes in exhaust tone, depending on system setup

Catted vs Catless

Catted Downpipe

Includes a catalytic converter designed for specific applications
Used where emissions considerations or regulations apply
Often selected for vehicles intended for street use, where permitted

Catless Downpipe

Does not include a catalytic converter
Typically intended for off-road, competition, or export use
Used in applications where different regulatory standards apply

Is a Downpipe Right for Your Build?

Own a turbocharged vehicle

Are upgrading intake, intercooler, or exhaust components

Want improved exhaust efficiency and response

Are building a balanced street or track setup

Important Notice

Products on this site are for off-road/racing use only and are not legal for public roads where emissions laws apply.

Professional installation recommended. Removing emissions equipment (DPF, CAT, SCR, DOC) requires deleting related sensors and a compatible tuner to avoid engine codes.

Performance gains may vary—no guarantees.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a downpipe? +
A downpipe is the exhaust section that connects directly to your turbocharger. It replaces the restrictive factory pipe to allow exhaust gases to exit faster, which improves turbo response and can increase power.
What's the difference between catted and catless downpipes? +
Catted downpipes include a high-flow catalytic converter and are designed for street use. Catless downpipes remove the catalytic converter entirely for maximum flow, but are intended for off-road or competition use only.
Will a downpipe increase horsepower? +
Yes. A downpipe is one of the most effective modifications for turbocharged vehicles. It reduces exhaust backpressure, allowing the turbo to spool faster and produce more power, especially when combined with proper tuning.
Do downpipes make the car louder? +
They usually do. You'll typically notice a deeper exhaust tone and more turbo whistle. Catless downpipes tend to be significantly louder and more aggressive than catted versions.
Do I need tuning after installing a downpipe? +
Tuning is strongly recommended. It helps maximize performance gains and prevents potential issues like check engine lights or improper air-fuel ratios that can occur with increased exhaust flow.
Are downpipes street legal? +
This depends on the design and local regulations. Catted downpipes with proper certifications may be street legal. Catless downpipes are generally not legal for street use. Always verify with your local emissions laws before installation.
Can I use a downpipe with my stock exhaust system? +
Yes. Downpipes are designed to connect to either stock or aftermarket exhaust systems. You will still experience performance benefits even with the rest of the exhaust remaining stock.
Are downpipes hard to install? +
Installation difficulty varies by vehicle. Some are straightforward bolt-on installations, while others may require more time and tools due to limited space around the turbocharger area.
Will a downpipe affect reliability? +
When properly installed and tuned, quality downpipes are generally reliable. They reduce exhaust backpressure, which can help lower turbo temperatures and potentially extend component life.
